The graduate director pulled Jeff and me aside today during the welcome pizza party to tell us "unofficially" that we did well on the topology exam and that we could take manifolds. YAY!!!

I led my first discussion section today and it went really well! Only one awkward moment: in the middle of class when everyone was working on problems I assigned, a girl went, "Has anyone every told you you have really pretty eyes?" and then continued, "everyone else was probably thinking it, but they just wouldn't say it." That's awkward.
